David E. McGlynn is a Professor of English at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he has taught since 2006. He specializes in creative writing, contemporary American literature, and memoir. His academic background includes a Ph.D. and M.F.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Utah, and a B.A. in English and Philosophy from the University of California, Irvine.
McGlynn is an acclaimed author with works spanning novels, memoirs, and nonfiction. His publications include Everything We Could Do, Liberal Arts, A Door in the Ocean, and One Day You'll Thank Me, with a forthcoming book on swimming history. He is a recipient of the 2008 Utah Book Award and the Wisconsin Library Association’s 'Outstanding Achievement' honor.
