Thomas Flint is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Hamburg, since 2020. His academic career includes roles as a Consultant Lecturer at the same faculty (2012–2020), prior to his appointment as a full professor. He holds a doctorate from Humboldt University Berlin and combines his academic work with a judicial career as a judge at the Federal Social Court of Germany since 2013.

Flint’s research focuses on Social Law, particularly existential security, social assistance, and health law, alongside procedural law. His work often bridges academic scholarship with judicial practice, reflecting his dual expertise as a legal academic and judge.
