Thomas Feuerer

Dr. Thomas Feuerer is a Lecturer at the Institute of History, Chair of Bavarian Regional History, within the Faculty of Philosophy, Arts, History and Social Sciences at the University of Regensburg. Since 2006, he has served as Cultural Officer of the Regensburg District and became District Heritage Officer in 2009. His academic work focuses on Bavarian regional history, church history, historical building research, and cultural heritage preservation.

Dr. Feuerer’s research spans Bavarian regional history, settlement patterns, and architectural heritage, with a focus on the interaction between nobility, monastic institutions, and religious authorities. His publications and editorial work emphasize the Regensburg area, including Jurahäuser architecture, the history of Hemau, and pre-Reformation monastic reforms under Duke Albert IV of Bavaria.

His recent articles explore topics such as Benedictine reforms, Jurahaus architecture, and medieval settlements, reflecting interdisciplinary approaches to historical documents, inscriptions, and physical structures. He is actively involved in cultural preservation through memberships in organizations like the Bayerischer Landesverein für Heimatpflege and the Historischer Verein für Oberpfalz und Regensburg.

Dr. Feuerer contributes to teaching on Bavarian history, regional heritage, and monument conservation. He serves as co-editor of the Regensburger Beiträge zur Heimatforschung and participates in numerous historical and architectural associations, including roles in the Arbeitskreis für Hausforschung and the Freunde des ehemaligen Benediktinerklosters Prüfening.
