Thomas E. Platt is a Professor, Associate Dean for Academic Partnerships, and Department Chair in the Department of Community Health Services and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (SHRS). He plays a key leadership role in academic partnerships and interprofessional education initiatives.

His publications highlight a strong focus on EMS systems, the integration of advanced practice providers (PAs and NPs) in emergency response, cognitive frameworks for paramedic decision-making, and occupational health issues such as the impact of night shifts on vascular function. These works reflect a career dedicated to improving both EMS education and provider well-being.
