Dr. Thomas Dixon is a member of the Department of Christian Studies at Campbell University's College of Arts & Sciences, joining the faculty in 2017. He previously served as a Part-time Lecturer at Rutgers University and Princeton Theological Seminary, teaching courses in New Testament studies, apocalypticism, and biblical languages. His academic work bridges biblical exegesis, historical theology, and social justice themes.
His research focuses on Pauline theology, particularly divine judgment and mercy in Romans, the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr.'s theological framework with Reformation thought, and epistemology in ancient Jewish texts like the Dead Sea Scrolls. This interdisciplinary approach connects biblical scholarship with ethical and historical analysis of religious movements.
Recent publications include analyses of divine judgment in Romans (2020, 2023), MLK's theological engagement with Martin Luther (2021), and epistemology in the Dead Sea Scrolls (2014). An upcoming monograph, Paul and the Wrath: Divine Judgment and Mercy for Israel in Romans 9–11, is set for publication in 2024 with Baylor University Press.
