Thomas Ackermann

Prof. Dr. Thomas Ackermann is a University Professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) holding the Chair of Civil Law, European and International Business Law within the Faculty of Law. His research focuses on European Union Law, International Commercial Law, and digital market regulation, particularly through initiatives like the Resilient Regulation for Digital Markets (RESREG) project. He coordinates the Common Market Law Review and the Cambridge LMU Strategic Partnership.

Prof. Ackermann holds an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge, complementing his German legal education. He oversees the Munich Center for Capital Markets Law (MuCCML) and collaborates with international academic networks. His academic staff includes researchers and student assistants working on topics such as European business law, digitalization, and legal frameworks for global markets.

He is actively involved in academic governance, mentoring, and interdisciplinary research, contributing to LMU’s legal education and international partnerships.
