Thierry Fichefet is a Full Professor and President of the School of Physics at Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), specializing in climate and sea ice modeling. His research focuses on global climate variability, cryosphere-climate interactions, and polar region dynamics.
- PhD in Sciences (UCL, 1988), Master in Physics (UCL, 1983)
His large-scale sea ice modeling (LIM group) and leadership in international climate initiatives like IPCC and CLIVAR highlight his contributions. He has supervised 24 PhD theses and 15 postdocs.
