Dorthe Dahl-Jensen is a Professor and Canada Excellence Research Chair at the University of Manitoba's Centre for Earth Observation Science, with additional affiliation as a Villum Investigator at the University of Copenhagen. Her pioneering ice core research has reconstructed 2000 years of climate history and documented abrupt climate changes during glacial periods.
Her current CERC research investigates cryosphere changes in warming climates, focusing on Greenland ice sheet dynamics, glacial-ocean interactions, and sea ice variability using paleoclimate proxies. She has received prestigious honors including the EU Descartes Prize and EGU Agassiz Medal.
Current PhD students include Niels Fabrin Nymand and Debangshu Banerjee.
