معرفی
Thi Ta is a Visiting Fellow at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering. His research focuses on structural and physical properties of materials, with particular emphasis on tribology, lubrication mechanisms, and computational modeling. He advises PhD students on topics like molecular modeling of lubricants and has contributed to projects funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC). Notable collaborations include studies on glass-based lubricants in steel manufacturing and the tribological behavior of materials under extreme conditions.
His work integrates experimental and computational approaches to explore material interfaces, friction reduction, and tribochemical reactions. Key areas include the design of environmentally friendly lubricants, nanomaterials for tribological applications, and closed-loop optimization of material systems. He has published extensively in journals such as Friction, ACS Applied Nano Materials, and Journal of Physical Chemistry C.
Recent funding includes the ARC Discovery Project on 'Environmentally friendly lubricants for higher productivity in cold rolling' (2024–2026). His research bridges fundamental materials science with industrial applications, addressing challenges in energy efficiency and sustainable manufacturing.
