Dr. Thet Thet Htar is a Senior Lecturer at the Malaysia School of Pharmacy, Monash University, specializing in medicinal chemistry and molecular imaging. She holds a PhD from Cardiff University and has been actively involved in academic research since 2004. Her work focuses on small molecule synthesis, molecular docking, and drug design targeting breast cancer and antiviral agents.
Education: BPharm (Honours) from Cardiff University (1999), PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Cardiff University (2004).
Research interests include estrogen receptor-targeted fluorescent probes, GPER-1 ligand interactions, and natural product-based drug discovery. She has led projects such as the development of breast cancer imaging probes and studies on curcumin’s therapeutic potential.
Key scientific contributions span over 40 publications, including work on anti-leishmanial agents, SARS-CoV-2 inhibitors, and phytochemical screening. She actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, including clinical trials for wound care and drug delivery systems.
Teaching commitments include medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences at the undergraduate level. She has supervised seven PhD students and one Master’s student since 2017, contributing to both academic and clinical research advancements.
