Therese Migraine-George is Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Cincinnati. Her research spans African literatures, Francophone women writers, queer studies, and creative writing. She has authored multiple books including African Women and Representation (2008) and From Francophonie to World Literature in French (2013).
Her scholarly work examines representation politics in African contexts through interdisciplinary lenses incorporating gender studies, postcolonial theory, and performance studies. Recent work explores queer identities in African diaspora communities and Francophone literary traditions.
Honors include the LGBTQ Center Rainbow Award, WGSS Outstanding Faculty Award, and Taft Research Fellowships. She currently serves as Department Chair and teaches graduate seminars in Francophone Feminisms, African Cultural Studies, and Literary Theory.
