Anne Donadey is a Professor of French and Women’s Studies at San Diego State University (SDSU). Her work focuses on postcolonial literature, francophone studies, and intersectional gender analysis. She has authored major works including Recasting Postcolonialism: Women Writing between Worlds (2001) and co-edited influential volumes like Postcolonial Theory and Francophone Literary Studies (2005). Her scholarship bridges literary analysis with social justice, examining themes like colonial history, cultural identity, and marginalized voices in francophone contexts. Recent contributions include editing special journal issues and anthologies aimed at advancing intersectional pedagogy in gender studies.
Donadey’s articles appear in leading journals including PMLA, Signs, and College Literature, where she critiques representations of the Algerian War, analyzes feminist film narratives, and interrogates cultural production in postcolonial societies.
