معرفی
Therese Andersson is a Senior Lecturer (Docent) at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet. She leads a research group focused on statistical methods for cancer patient survival, particularly using population-based cancer registries to quantify life expectancy loss and benchmark international survival trends.
- Senior Lecturer, Karolinska Institutet (2020–)
- Group Leader, Statistical Methods for Cancer Patient Survival
- Collaborator, International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership SURVMARK-2
Her research emphasizes loss in life expectancy (LLE) and survival analysis for cancers like melanoma, MPN, and colorectal cancer, utilizing Swedish health registers and flexible parametric models. She has pioneered methods to adjust for age variation and competing risks in survival comparisons.
Recent 2025 publications include Bayesian spatial models for LLE, thrombosis risk in MPN patients, and temporal trends in cancer survival standards. Her work bridges biostatistics and clinical epidemiology, influencing resource allocation and cancer control policy.
Teaching highlights: Co-developer of the MSc Biostatistics and Data Science program (Stockholm Trio collaboration), instructor at IARC Summer School on Cancer Survival Methods, and lecturer on competing risks and multi-state models.
