معرفی
Theresa Guo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). With a background in mechanical engineering and medicine, her research focuses on post-transcriptional genomic alterations in head and neck cancers, particularly alternative splicing events that bridge DNA mutations and protein phenotypes. She employs computational biology approaches to advance precision cancer care.
- Education:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, MIT
- MD, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
- Residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Johns Hopkins Hospital
- Fellowship in Head & Neck Surgical Oncology, MD Anderson Cancer Center
Research Interests include alternative splicing in cancer, HPV-related oropharyngeal tumors, neoantigen discovery, and computational modeling of tumor heterogeneity. Her work addresses understudied gaps in genomic knowledge to improve therapeutic outcomes.
Recent Publications highlight computational tools like OutSplice for splicing analysis, HPV oncogenic pathways, methylation-driven gene regulation, and clinical studies on treatment resistance and survival disparities. Key fields include head & neck oncology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
Collaborations span multidisciplinary teams at UCSD and institutions like Johns Hopkins and MD Anderson, with co-authorships on studies involving immunotherapy, surgical outcomes, and epigenetic mechanisms.
