University of Massachusetts Amherstمعرفی
Theodore Castro–Santos is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research integrates biomechanics, behavior, and ecology to address challenges in fish passage at riverine barriers, with particular focus on migratory and diadromous fish species.
He holds a PhD in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology from UMass Amherst (2002), an MS in Wildlife Biology from Washington State University (1991), and a BA in Biology and Spanish Literature from Colgate University (1987).
Professor Castro-Santos' research examines how hydraulic conditions affect fish swimming performance and movement behavior, developing quantitative methods to characterize barriers and design effective passage structures. His work has significant applications in aquatic resource management and conservation.
