معرفی
Theo Tanner is a Departmental Lecturer in Practical Chemistry at the University of Oxford, working within the Chemistry Teaching Laboratory (CTL). His role focuses on developing practical laboratory skills and computational/digital competencies for first-year undergraduate students.
- Educated at the University of York (MChem, PhD)
- Former Associate Lecturer at the University of York
- Research background in mechanistic investigations, transition metal catalysis, and computational chemistry
Theo's research during his PhD at York centered on the Pauson-Khand reaction, combining experimental and computational approaches, including machine learning and ultrafast spectroscopy. His work also revealed novel photochemical reactivity in molybdenum systems.
In his current position, Theo emphasizes foundational practical training and modern educational techniques in chemistry, leveraging in-situ FTIR spectroscopy, computational methods, and statistical modeling. He previously worked as a crystallography technician, collecting and processing X-ray diffraction data for research groups.
