Theo Haupt is an Assistant Instructional Professor in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at the University of Wyoming.

Dr. Haupt specializes in Construction Education, Construction Health and Safety, Construction Industry Development, and Construction 5.0. His research focuses on sustainable construction practices, circular economy in the built environment, and addressing gender diversity challenges in the construction industry. He has secured significant funding from the National Research Foundation (NRF) and other international bodies for projects related to these areas.

His recent funded research includes projects on the circular economy (South Africa/Switzerland Bilateral Research Grant), Sustainable Built Environment Higher Education for the Future (NRF), HAVS in Construction (NRF), Harmonization of Construction Health and Safety Practices (British Academy), and several others. He also leads projects on occupational stress, diversity and innovation, women's career choices, and sustainable construction in Southern Africa.

Dr. Haupt is a Registered Professional Construction Manager in South Africa and is active in professional organizations such as the Association of Construction Health and Safety Management (ACHASM) and the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
