Dr. Thao Tran is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at RMIT University's School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. She holds a Master of International Finance and PhD in Finance from Deakin University. Her roles include Program Manager for the Master of Finance program (2022–2024), leading curriculum development for CFA-affiliated courses and creating the Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Finance and Investment. She has taught in Australia and Malaysia, covering subjects such as Corporate Finance, Risk Management, and Derivatives.
Her research focuses on corporate finance, banking, and sustainability. She serves on the editorial board of the University of Danang's Journal of Science and Technology. Key interests include climate action (UN SDG 13), gender equality (SDG 5), and affordable clean energy (SDG 7).
Thao has held academic positions at RMIT, Monash University Malaysia, and Deakin University. She is open to supervising Masters and PhD students in finance-related fields. Her work integrates sustainable finance principles with traditional financial frameworks, addressing global challenges like carbon risk and energy market dynamics.
