Thanh Pham is an Associate Professor at Monash University's School of Education, Culture and Society (ECS). With a background in educational studies from the University of Queensland, Dr. Pham has established a distinguished career focusing on graduate employability, transitions, and intercultural education. Currently serving as the Education Representative of ECS and a member of Monash University's Career Impact Working Group, Dr. Pham also contributes significantly to academic discourse as the Associate Editor of Higher Education Research & Development and as a regular reviewer for Higher Education and other journals.
Dr. Pham's educational background includes MA and PhD degrees in educational studies from the University of Queensland (UQ). The academic journey began as a university lecturer while working in Australian schools during graduate studies, followed by a postdoctoral research fellowship at UQ before joining Monash University.
Dr. Pham's research program centers on graduate employability and transitions across diverse educational contexts. With expertise in intercultural education and pedagogies, the research investigates how educational practices function in different socio-cultural environments and how students develop resources to navigate career transitions. The work spans higher education, schools, and the vocational sector across Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Japan. Current research examines how students and graduates build and utilize resources to negotiate employability and transitions, particularly focusing on early years learning and school success. Dr. Pham leads and participates in significant projects including The Job Ready Program of the Australian Government, Learning Experience of Vocational students, Graduate Employability and Leadership of Tanoto Foundation, and PRESET of LEGO Foundation.
Dr. Pham's scholarly contributions demonstrate a consistent focus on international education and workforce transition issues. The publication pattern shows increasing output over time, with significant contributions in 2020-2025, reflecting expertise in graduate employability, international student experiences, and educational transitions.
