Thang Nguyen is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Coventry University, affiliated with the Research Centre for Financial & Corporate Integrity. He leads the internally funded project 'Empowering Women Leadership in Higher Education Towards Digitalisation and Globalisation Ages' (2022–2025), focusing on leadership development in digital and global contexts. His research interests span crowdfunding dynamics, financial management, investor behavior, and earnings management in mergers & acquisitions. Notably, Nguyen explores how firms manage cash flows through diversification and analyses motivations behind crowdfunding contributions, including pro-social and self-presentation behaviors. He also contributes to interdisciplinary studies, such as medication adherence in chronic diseases and technological applications in laser communication.
Key research outputs include studies on board-CEO age similarity's impact on earnings management, herding effects in equity crowdfunding, and genetic factors in COPD. His work bridges finance, behavioral economics, and public health, with a regional focus on Vietnam. Nguyen is actively involved in collaborative projects and accepts PhD students, emphasizing empirical and applied research.
