معرفی
Thang Le, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine. His research lies at the intersection of neuroscience and psychiatry, focusing on the neural mechanisms underlying alcohol use disorder (AUD).
- PhD in Integrative Neuroscience, Stony Brook University (2017)
- BA in Psychology, Park University (2009)
Dr. Le employs functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), physiological recordings, and clinical assessments to investigate how pain response, avoidance learning, and reward circuitry contribute to the maintenance and relapse of AUD. His work integrates cognitive neuroscience with clinical psychiatry to understand the interplay between motivational processes, emotional regulation, and cognitive control in addictive behaviors.
His recent publications highlight trends in using neuroimaging to identify biomarkers for AUD, particularly focusing on diminished reward circuit responses, neural correlates of avoidance deficits, and structural brain predictors of relapse. His research bridges cognitive neuroscience, addiction psychiatry, and translational neuroimaging.
- NIAAA Pathway to Independence Award (K99), 2022
- BBRF Young Investigator Grant, 2022
Dr. Le is the Principal Investigator on a clinical trial investigating pain avoidance in alcohol use disorders (HIC ID 2000030879). He is a member of the Janeway Society at Yale, supporting physician-scientist development. He frequently collaborates with Dr. Chiang-Shan Ray Li and other researchers in the Yale psychiatry and neuroscience community.
His research is conducted within the psychiatric neuroscience community at Yale, contributing to the Center for the Translational Neuroscience of Alcohol (CTNA) and leveraging resources from the MR Core and Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI).
