Dr. Tessa Reardon is a Research Fellow in the Departments of Experimental Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Oxford, and a Hugh Price Fellow at Jesus College. Her work focuses on developing and evaluating interventions to identify and support children with common mental health problems, particularly anxiety disorders. She employs methodologies including systematic reviews, randomized controlled trials (RCTs), and qualitative research to address access barriers families face in seeking mental health support.
Dr. Reardon holds a BA in Psychology from Swansea University and a PhD from the University of Reading. Her academic background includes postdoctoral research at Oxford and a Prudence Trust Fellowship (2024). She collaborates with the TOPIC Research Group and leads large-scale trials like the iCATS and MYCATS projects, which evaluate school-based screening and intervention approaches for anxiety in primary school children.
Her research emphasizes implementation science, aiming to translate evidence-based practices into real-world settings. Key areas include optimizing identification-to-intervention pathways in schools, reducing stigma barriers, and enhancing accessibility of mental health services for vulnerable populations.
