Terry Fry

Terry Fry, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics, Hematology, and Immunology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and serves as Executive Director of the Gates Institute. He co-directs the Human Immunology and Immunotherapy Initiative and leads Cancer Immunotherapy programs, holding the Charles C. Gates Endowed Chair in Regenerative Medicine.

• Research focuses on chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells for pediatric cancers.
• Current advisory roles: Chair of the Gates Institute Advisory Board, Vice Chair for Biology in the Children’s Oncology Group Cellular Therapy Committee, and member of the American Society of Hematology's Committee for Scientific Affairs.
• Prior positions: Head of T Cell Therapeutics at Sana Biotechnology, Section Head at NIH Pediatric Oncology Branch, and Chief of Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Children’s National Medical Center.

Scientific Recognition

• Elected into the American Society for Clinical Investigation.

Labs & Facilities: Leads the Cancer Immunotherapy program at the Gates Biomanufacturing Facility (Aurora, CO).
