Terrell Hunsinger, Jr., L.L.M., is a Part-time Professor of Practice in Law at the University of Arizona's James E. Rogers College of Law, where he is also pursuing a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy (IPLP) Program. His academic and professional work centers on Federal Indian Law, tribal sovereignty, criminal justice, immigration, and intellectual property law.
His research focuses on the legal implications of Supreme Court rulings on tribal sovereignty, particularly the doctrine of implicit divestiture, and how these affect Congressional plenary power. Additional areas include genomic research ethics in Native communities, human rights at the border, and legal protections for endangered species through biotechnology. He has contributed to the Oklahoma City University Law Review and participated in multiple legal clinics, including the IPLP Tribal Law Clinic and International Human Rights Clinic.
