Terilee Edwards-Hewitt

Terilee Edwards-Hewitt is a PhD student in Cultural Studies at George Mason University, where she serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Anthropology. She also teaches at multiple colleges in the Washington, DC area and works in the museum field.

Education:

• MA in Anthropology with concentration in museum studies, George Washington University
• MA in Psychology, The American University
• MA in Psychology, SUNY at New Paltz

Her research explores the intersectionality of gender, disability, and ethnicity in historical and modern US culture, with a focus on mass/popular culture, social media, and archaeological/historic records. She has lived in multiple US regions, shaping her perspectives on history and culture.

Her recent publications analyze digital grief expression on Twitter and oral history projects documenting immigrant communities in Virginia. These works span digital ethnography, cultural documentation, and sociocultural analysis.
