Olga Arans

Olga Arans is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages at George Mason University. She has over two decades of experience teaching classical Greek and Latin languages, literature, and mythology courses at George Mason University (GMU) and the University of Mary Washington (UMW) as adjunct faculty, transitioning to her current term appointment.

• Education: MA in Classical Philology from the University of St Petersburg, Russia; PhD in Classical Philology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Her research focuses on Greek and Roman epic and dramatic genres, early philosophy, and comparative mythology & folklore. She has taught courses covering classical languages and literatures, emphasizing interdisciplinary connections between ancient texts and broader cultural narratives.
