Teri Odom is the Charles E. and Emma H. Morrison Professor of Chemistry and a courtesy Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering. Her research focuses on nanofabrication, plasmonic materials, nano-lasers, and bioimaging, with applications in photonics, energy, and biomedicine.
Notable achievements include over 200 publications, editorship of Nano Letters, and prestigious awards such as the NIH Director’s Pioneer Award and Vannevar Bush Faculty Fellowship. She leads the Odom Group, advancing nanoscale materials for optoelectronics and biomedical diagnostics.
Odom’s work spans plasmonic lattices, quantum dot lasing, and antifouling nanoelectrodes. She holds affiliations with the PhD Program in Interdisciplinary Biological Sciences and collaborates with institutions like Argonne National Laboratory. Recent recognitions include the 2025 Kirkwood Award and Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar appointment.
