Teresa Fava Thomas is a Professor of History at Fitchburg State University’s School of Arts and Sciences, specializing in European and Italian-American history. She teaches courses such as World Civilizations I and II, Italian American History, and Cold War: A Global History.
- Education: Ph.D. and M.A. from Clark University; B.S. from Fitchburg State University.
Her research focuses on Allied strategic bombing in central Italy during WWII and Italian immigration to Massachusetts. She has authored books on topics like the restoration of the Nile Mosaic at Palestrina and migration patterns from the Veneto region. Her recent projects explore the intersection of wartime destruction and historical preservation.
Her publications and conference presentations highlight interdisciplinary approaches to military history, cultural heritage, and diaspora studies, with a particular emphasis on lesser-known narratives of Italian communities. She has presented at venues like the New England Historical Association and the FSU Faculty Research Symposium.
