Teona Giuashvili is the David Davies of Llandinam Research Fellow in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research focuses on EU foreign policy toward Eastern Europe, the political and security implications of Russia’s war against Ukraine, and Black Sea regional dynamics. Previously, she served as a Georgian diplomat with over 11 years of experience, including roles as acting director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Department of International Organisations and deputy head of the Mission of Georgia to the EU. She has also held diplomatic posts in Brussels and Paris.
Dr. Giuashvili holds a PhD and Master’s in Political Science from Sciences Po Paris, a Master’s in International Relations from Panthéon-Assas Paris II and Tbilisi State University, and completed an academic exchange at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She lectures on Conflict Resolution at Tbilisi State University and contributes to policy analysis through affiliations with the European University Institute.
Her research clusters at LSE include International Institutions, Law and Ethics, and Security and Statecraft. Key expertise areas span European security policies, Eastern Europe’s political developments, and NATO-EU coordination in response to regional instability.
