Tenikka L. Jones is an Assistant Professor of Law at Nova Southeastern University College of Law, where she teaches Legal Research and Writing I and II. She joined the faculty in 2024 and is affiliated with the Legal Writing Institute and the Association of American Law Schools (AALS).
- Education: J.D., cum laude, University of Miami School of Law (2004); B.S. in Criminology with a minor in English, cum laude, Florida State University (2001).
Her research interests focus on foundational legal skills, including legal writing, appellate advocacy, and procedural law. She emphasizes practical applications in real property litigation, civil procedure, evidence, and interdisciplinary intersections like women's legal roles. Her work reflects a commitment to community engagement, particularly through mentoring youth via the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program since 2017.
Professor Jones has extensive professional experience in business litigation and commercial real estate finance, having worked as a Shareholder at Carlton Fields, P.A. She also served as a staff attorney for Florida Supreme Court Justice Barbara J. Pariente and interned with Justice Leander J. Shaw Jr., shaping her expertise in legal analysis and complex litigation.
