Dr. Temitope Omotayo is a Reader in Sustainable Construction and Digital Project Management at the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing, Leeds Beckett University. He serves as the research lead for the Futures of Systems, People and Projects (FUSP) lab and is actively engaged in multiple high-impact research grants.
His research interests include generative AI in construction, BIM, circular economy, construction cost management, smart cities, and systems thinking. He applies advanced technologies like natural language processing and machine learning to improve productivity and sustainability in the built environment.
The recent publications highlight his leadership in AI-driven innovation, particularly in construction cost management and waste reduction. His work demonstrates a strong trend toward digital transformation and sustainability in construction through AI and systems-based approaches.

Dr. Omotayo has secured over £2.5 million in research funding, including grants from Innovate UK, British Council, Royal Academy of Engineering, and the Australian Research Council. He mentors PhD students, with two successfully completed and five currently under supervision. His grants focus on AI adoption, BIM integration, climate resilience, and sustainable housing.
He leads the FUSP lab and has developed a VR lab to enhance student engagement in BIM and construction modules. His collaborative research environment includes partnerships with institutions in Turkey, South Africa, Australia, and Sri Lanka.
