Tekin Ertan is a Lecturer at the Department of City Center Hotels Management and Food & Beverage Businesses within the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Özyeğin University. He holds a BA in Business Administration from Middle East Technical University (METU) and an MBA in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Michigan State University (1965).

His research and teaching focus on hospitality management, including Hotel Management Seminars, Food and Beverage Management, and Restaurant Management. He has contributed to the field through his academic roles at Bilkent University (1989–2008) and Doğuş University (2008–2009), where he held leadership positions such as Department Chair and Deputy Director of Vocational Schools.
He is a member of EuroCHRIE (European Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education) and the MSU Alumni Association, and has received numerous awards for his contributions to hospitality and tourism education. His professional experience includes 24 years as managing partner at Hotel Bulvar (1965–1989), and founding roles in the ATID - Association of Anatolian Tourism Operators and TUGEV - Foundation for Tourism Development and Education.
