Ted Mack is a Professor in the Department of Asian Languages & Literature at the University of Washington, affiliated with the College of Arts & Sciences. He serves as Chair of the Undergraduate Education Committee. His research focuses on modern Japanese-language prose, the intersection of art and capitalism, and the transnational flow of literary works across the Japanese linguistic community. He challenges culturalist notions of national identity through diaspora theories and heterogeneity studies.
