Taylor Joo is an Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program at the College of Business, New Mexico State University. His expertise spans accounting research with focuses on earnings management, fair value measurements, SEC regulatory practices, and financial reporting quality. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Arkansas.
Dr. Joo's research has been presented at prominent conferences including the AAA Auditing Midyear Conference and the University of Arkansas Accounting Research Conference. Notable works include examining SEC filing scrutiny in 'sin stocks' and analyzing holiday effects on quarterly earnings. His teaching portfolio includes advanced accounting courses such as Accounting Data Analytics and CPA Exam Preparation.
Current research projects explore diversity in public accounting, earnings management in nonprofit hospitals, and the impact of accounting standards (GASB 68) on municipal bond markets. He also investigates unique intersections like NFL injury reports' influence on betting markets through management disclosure credibility studies.
