Taylor Hutchinson, DMA is an Adjunct Professor of Vocal Coaching at Oklahoma City University’s Bass School of Music. She is also affiliated with the Prague Summer Nights Young Artists Music Festival as faculty, previously serving as Music Director of Opera at Truman and Coordinator of Collaborative Piano at Truman State University (2019–2022). Her career spans international performances in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, and the U.S., specializing in vocal collaboration across Baroque opera, contemporary chamber music, and musical theater.
- Education: DMA in Collaborative Piano from Arizona State University; MM in Piano Accompanying & Chamber Music from Eastman School of Music; BS in Piano Performance and Mathematics (Summa Cum Laude) from Virginia Tech.
Research focuses on art song interpretation, including a doctoral dissertation on Guy Ropartz’s Quatre Poèmes après l'Intermezzo d'Henri Heine, exploring poetry-music connections. She has collaborated with renowned artists like Stephanie Blythe and composers Jake Heggie, and premiered Dominick DiOrio’s Splitting the Sunlight.
- Awards: NATS Intern Program (2021), SongFest Fellowship (2017).
Advocates for young singers’ development, her students have advanced to graduate programs at University of Michigan, Boston University, and Rice University. Active in music festivals including Bay View, Musiktheater Bavaria, and Druid City Opera Workshop.
