Tatiana Londoño

Dr. Tatiana Londoño is an Assistant Professor of Social Welfare at the Luskin School of Public Affairs, University of California, Los Angeles. A first-generation Latina born in Colombia and raised in Miami, Florida, she holds a PhD and MSSW in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior from Vassar College.

Her research focuses on the mental health and psychosocial wellbeing of Latine/x immigrant youth and families, emphasizing migration experiences and their impact on mental health outcomes. She employs mixed-method approaches to study migration trauma, parent-child relationships, and wellbeing trajectories among resettled youth, while developing accessible preventative interventions. Her work appears in journals like Family Process, Health Psychology, and Social Work in Mental Health, alongside policy briefs with the Children’s Defense Fund and the Center on Immigration and Child Welfare.

Dr. Londoño has conducted NIH-funded studies on migration trauma, suicide prevention among Latinas, immigration enforcement effects on U.S. citizen children, and mental health service transitions. She also evaluates programs like the Mental Health Collaborative at Girasol and consults on trauma-informed training for service providers, supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Her community work includes counseling Spanish-speaking families and volunteering with immigrant resource centers.
