Taryn Youngstein

Dr Taryn Youngstein (ORCID: 0000-0002-8297-556X) is a Consultant Rheumatologist at Hammersmith Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London's National Heart & Lung Institute, Faculty of Medicine. Her work spans clinical practice, research leadership, and national policy development in inflammation-related specialties.

• Education: Research degree in Amyloidosis and Acute Phase Protein research from University College London's National Amyloidosis Centre

Research Focus: Specializing in hyperinflammation syndromes, vasculitis, and cardio-rheumatology, Dr. Youngstein leads research into pathogenesis of cardiac inflammatory conditions and accelerated atherosclerosis in autoimmune rheumatic diseases. She co-directs the Imperial College Centre of Excellence in Vasculitis Research and co-leads the UK Cardio-IMID Research Network funded by UKRI/MRC/BHF.

Clinical Leadership: Directs the National Large Vessel Vasculitis Clinic and Clinical Research Group, while serving as Co-Chair of the National Off Tariff Drugs Group and contributing to biologic treatment guidelines through the British Society for Rheumatology.
