Tara McGill

Tara McGill is an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Science in Education (MSED) program at Northwestern University's School of Education and Social Policy (SESP). She specializes in curriculum design, professional development, and cooperative learning methodologies. Since 2017, she has taught in the MSED program while also contributing to grant-funded curriculum development projects with Brian Reiser’s research team at NU, focusing on middle and high school science education.

Her educational background includes a BA in Biology from Boston University, an MS in Entomology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MAT in Secondary Science Education with a Middle-Level Learning Endorsement from National Louis University. Her work bridges P-12 educational practice with innovative research-driven approaches to curriculum design.

McGill’s research interests emphasize the practical application of scientific curriculum materials and collaborative learning strategies, aiming to enhance educational equity and effectiveness. She has over 15 years of experience in P-12 education, coupled with academic roles that prioritize translating research into classroom-ready solutions.
