Tara Lockhart is a Professor at San Francisco State University, teaching Composition Studies for 12 years and college writing for 20 years. She instructs undergraduate writing courses and graduate courses in composition, literacy studies, and pedagogy within the university's academic structure.
Her research centers on Composition Studies and Literacy Studies, with specific expertise in Writing Transfer, Rhetoric, and Open-Access Publishing. She co-founded and serves as Senior Editor of Literacy in Composition Studies, advancing scholarly communication in her field. Her major publications include co-authoring Informed Choices: A Guide for Teachers of College Writing and Literacy and Pedagogy in an Age of Misinformation and Disinformation, alongside work in College English and Enculturation.
