Tara Lee is a Clinical Research Fellow at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, and a Speciality Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the East of England. She is the 2021 DRWF Sutherland-Earl Clinical Fellow, conducting PhD research on diabetes technologies during pregnancy. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic research in maternal metabolic health.
Research Interests: Dr. Lee's research is centered on improving outcomes for pregnant women with diabetes, particularly through the use of advanced technologies such as automated insulin delivery (AID) and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Her work spans type 1 and type 2 diabetes in pregnancy, focusing on glycemic control, maternal-fetal outcomes, and the integration of digital health tools into clinical care.
Her recent publications, including high-impact studies in The New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, demonstrate a strong trend toward interventional and observational research in diabetes technology during pregnancy and the postpartum period. These studies often involve multicentre collaborations and advanced monitoring systems.
