Tara Gamble

Tara Gamble is an Associate Lecturer in Public Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) within the School of Health. Her career spans nursing practice, health promotion, and tertiary education. She holds qualifications in Health Promotion (MHlthProm, Sunshine Coast) and Nursing (BN Technol.Syd).

Her teaching focuses on enhancing the first-year student experience through flipped classroom models, emphasizing equity and collaboration in primary healthcare. She coordinates large health courses like HLT140 Think Health and PUB112 Public Health Foundations, prioritizing student engagement and well-being.

Research interests center on community health and well-being assessment within health promotion practice cycles, aiming to address health inequities. She actively contributes to USC’s First Year Experience initiatives and collaborates with the Australian Health Promotion Association on ethics projects.

Her pedagogical work includes developing the STAR framework for transformative learning in health disciplines, emphasizing sensitization, action-taking, and reflection to prepare future health professionals.
