Tapobrata Sarkar

Tapobrata Sarkar is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. His research focuses on theoretical high-energy physics, specializing in string theory, gravity, and phase transitions. He holds a PhD from Madras University (1999), M.Sc. from Anna University (1995), and B.Sc. from University of Calcutta (1993), with research conducted at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai.

His research explores fundamental aspects of theoretical physics including string theory applications in black hole thermodynamics, information geometry in phase transitions, and mathematical physics of topological invariants. Recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on geometric approaches to quantum gravity and particle physics.
