Tanya Ovenden-Hope

Professor Tanya Ovenden-Hope serves as Professor of Education and Dean of Place & Social Purpose at Plymouth Marjon University, with leadership roles including Director of the CAPE Research Group. Her research addresses educational inequity in coastal/rural schools, teacher retention challenges, and professional development models. With over 100 publications, her work includes the RETAIN program for early-career teachers and studies on 'educational isolation'.

Professional recognition includes Principal Fellow of HEA and Fellow of Chartered College of Teaching. She leads national initiatives such as the APPG Teacher Supply SIG and contributes to education policy development. Current doctoral supervision focuses on place-based educational challenges.
