Tanya Hanstock

Dr Tanya Hanstock serves as a Senior Lecturer and Convenor of the Clinical Psychology Programs at the University of Newcastle, bringing over 25 years of clinical and research expertise in mental health. She specializes in child and adolescent development, mental health disorders, and Bipolar Disorder, with a strong commitment to advancing evidence-based psychological practice and education.

Her research focuses on developmental trajectories in youth mental health, particularly Bipolar Disorder interventions and assessment protocols. Dr Hanstock emphasizes translating clinical research into practical applications to improve treatment outcomes for vulnerable populations, collaborating across 40 institutions with 76 co-authors on her 35 published journal articles.

As Convenor of both the Master of Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) programs, she trains future practitioners through rigorous academic and clinical curricula.
