Tanya Baronti is the Director of Clinical Placements at Carlow University’s Department of Education and Liberal Studies, a role she assumed after serving as clinical coordinator and mentor in the Dr. Rae Ann Hirsh Apprenticeship Hub for Early Childhood Education. She teaches courses and oversees student teaching, field placements, and professional development. Her career spans over two decades in social services, education, and nonprofit leadership.
Prior roles include Director of United for Children at the United Way of Southwestern PA and Digital Media and Learning Project Manager at the Fred Rogers Center, where she developed statewide initiatives and presented nationally. She taught psychology and early childhood education at the Community College of Allegheny County and advised students there.
Her educational background includes a B.A. in Political Science and M.Ed. in Counselor Education from Pennsylvania State University, an M.S. in Early Childhood Education from the Erikson Institute, and pursuit of an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health certificate. She actively serves on boards like Jeremiah’s Place (crisis nursery), Gemini Children’s Theater, and the Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship.
Tanya’s work is driven by her commitment to child welfare and education equity, informed by her three adult children and experiences in Pittsburgh’s nonprofit and academic sectors.
