Tanya Applegate is Associate Professor and Scientific Manager of the RAPID Diagnostics Centre at the Kirby Institute, specializing in diagnostic innovation and implementation science.
Her research focuses on:
- Developing point-of-care diagnostics for infectious diseases
- Implementing testing programs for marginalized populations
- Addressing antimicrobial resistance through diagnostic stewardship
She co-directs the ARC Research Hub to combat antimicrobial resistance and leads hepatitis C testing programs in community settings.
