Tanumoy Banerjee is a Research Fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Energy Analysis and Environmental Impacts (EAEI) Division, affiliated with the Sustainable Energy and Environmental Systems (SEES) Department. He earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University in 2024, focusing on hydrogen energy systems integration and materials science.
His research centers on advancing hydrogen storage technologies using metal hydrides under ambient conditions, with additional work on boil-off hydrogen capture and utilization. This aligns with broader goals of enabling a sustainable green hydrogen economy and improving energy efficiency in sub-critical power plants.
