Dr. Tanja Palija is an Associate Professor at the Department of Final Wood Processing, Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, where she has been employed since 2009. She earned her PhD in Biotechnical Sciences (2015) through research on polymer-wood interactions.

- Member of ISS Standards Commissions for Furniture and Paints/Varnishes
Her research focuses on wood surface treatment technologies, coating interactions, and furniture quality control, with 36 scientific papers including 6 international journal publications. Recent work explores polyethylenimine pre-treatment for water-based coatings, nanocomposite coating properties, and gloss optimization in UV-acrylic finishing.
Key projects include international collaboration on wood surface modification and Serbian Ministry of Science grants [451-03-65/2024-03/200169] for polymer-wood biointerface studies.
