Tanja Mitrovic

Tanja Mitrovic is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Work and Law, part of the Lucerne School of Social Work (HSLU). She holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies with a focus on Sociology from the University of Luzern (2008–2012). Her research centers on child protection, domestic violence impact on children, social work practices, and family law policy. Key projects include developing transdisciplinary quality standards for child protection and analyzing responses to child neglect and endangerment across sectors.

Her work spans empirical studies on child maltreatment incidence rates, legal practitioner practices in custody disputes, and international human rights frameworks. Notable contributions include reports for the UBS Optimus Foundation and the Federal Office for Gender Equality. She has presented at international conferences such as ISPCAN and EUSARF, focusing on topics like child protection surveillance and domestic violence’s legal implications.

Collaborations include the Centre of Human Rights Education (ZMRB) and interdisciplinary teams addressing child welfare challenges. Her publications blend academic rigor with policy relevance, aiming to improve systemic responses to vulnerable children and families.
