Tania Leyva

Tania Leyva is a Lecturer of Spanish at The George Washington University, where she has been part of the Spanish Language Program since 2017. She serves as one of the Spanish Language Coordinators and a Study Abroad Advisor. Her academic background includes a B.S. in Business Administration and Spanish from SUNY Oswego, an M.A. in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture from Syracuse University (with a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Latin America/Caribbean Studies), and a diploma in Spanish as a Second Language (EL2) from San Jorge University, Spain. Her teaching focuses on language acquisition and cultural studies, with expertise in curriculum development and study abroad advising.

Research interests include innovative pedagogical approaches to second language instruction, the integration of cultural competency in language education, and the application of technology in language learning. She actively contributes to the academic community through her role in program coordination and advising international student exchanges.
